Bashir shares his experiences from the conference.

I would like to thank the Spinal Institute Research for the award of the grant to attend the 61ST International Society of Spinal Cord Injury Annual Scientific Meeting 2022. SRI has made me the only Nigerian on the register of ISCoS. The conference helped me to collaborate with other researchers, especially in Africa. I was able to connect with a researcher from South Africa working in my area of interest and we promised to undertake joint research with data from Nigeria and South Africa. I learned a technique on bladder training. The attendance of the conference has also exposed me to so many research areas, currently based on my experience I am developing a topic on sexuality and satisfaction of spinal cord injury survivors in Nigeria. The 61st ISCoS has impacted on me positively both on my research focus and my clinical practice as physiotherapist.
