About Us

The Spinal Research Institute (SRI) is committed to improving the lives of people with spinal cord injuries. People with spinal cord injuries live with many challenges and secondary health complications, limiting their independence and quality of life.

By building global collaboration in spinal cord research and clinical trials we aim to fast-track the translation of research outcomes into clinical health care practice.

Our major project, the SCI Research Collaborations Project, is designed to assist the global spinal cord research field overcome the connectivity barriers to research collaboration. The project will achieve this by developing an innovative online platform where researchers, clinicians, consumers and funders can connect, share and collaborate. As well, the project will provide travel grants and present research collaboration workshops.
