Lady Southey AC has been a wonderful supporter of the SRI for a number of years and we are honoured to announce that she has accepted our invitation to be the SRI Patron.

Her interest in spinal cord research and passion for improving the lives of people living with spinal cord injury inspires us all and we look forward to working together with her to make a positive impact in this area, internationally.

In my first message since becoming Patron of the SRI, it is my great pleasure to congratulate A/Prof. Doug Brown and the SRI team for successfully launching SCoRH in recent weeks and delivering a world-first, online platform for researchers in the field of spinal cord injury. This is the first step in achieving better collaboration and will connect this research sector around the globe like never before. This is important if we are to improve the number of studies that can be shown to be valid and make a real impact on the lives of those living with spinal cord injury. We are well on our way to doing this and I’m thrilled to be assisting the Institute as they work to give people living with spinal cord injury a better quality of life.
