Travel Grants

Dr Jasmine Hearn

Psychologist, UK

Dr Jasmine Hearn is a psychologist based at the University of Buckingham in the UK. She received a travel grant to attend the 57th ISCoS meeting held in Sydney, Australia in 2018.

“Whilst support from the SRI facilitated my ability to present the very positive results of my recent research on an internet-delivered mindfulness course for people with spinal cord injury and chronic neuropathic pain, it also facilitated my attendance at an incredibly educational and inspirational event. As a psychologist, I was extremely pleased to see the psychology-laden content within the ISCoS programme, and one of the many highlights included attending the excellent psychology pre-conference workshop jointly hosted by ISCoS, the Rehabilitation Psychology Interest Group of the Australian Psychological Society, and others.

“I was also grateful to attend the early career researcher breakfast, hosted by the SRI, which offered a fabulous opportunity to meet others in similar positions to myself, as well as more established clinicians and researchers. It was great to hear about the diversity in the work being conducted across the world by other very deserving grant awardees. The breakfast was an informal opportunity to get to know one another and conversations around international peer mentoring were initiated, echoed by all of us as something that was highly desired. I look forward to being involved and seeing how this initiative progresses.”  (Report extract.)
